I love my family and know that we can be together forever someday. It's been a pretty sad couple of days--tomorrow is the funeral--hopefully everything will go well.
Loa Jean Shumway
Loa Jean Shumway 1/22/1925 ~ 6/24/2009 Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 24, 2009. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho to Delbert and Cleo Taylor. She married Lafe K. Shumway in the Logan, UT LDS Temple on March 19, 1947. She is survived by her husband of 62 years; her five children, Cynthia (Donnie) Olson, Rebecca (Brian) Burgess, Jeffrey (Diane) Shumway, Larry (Mary) Shumway, and Daniel (Maggie) Shumway; 29 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one sister Darlene Green. She was preceded in death by a sister Gloria Baer and brother Keith Taylor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009, 11 a.m. in the Sunset Ridge 1st Ward, 8137 South Echo View Drive (6400 West), West Jordan, Utah. The family will receive friends and family following the services. A private interment will occur at a later date.
