Zach and his Science Fair Project

This year in 4th grade, Zach had a HUGE Science Fair project to tackle. Steve and I let him do the entire thing on his own. He chose the topic "Does Caffeine Affect the Human Heart Rate" and we were all participants. He collected the data, typed it up, made his poster and even added the cans to make it 3D...it was a very "kid friendly" effort and he got a green participation ribbon for it...along with an "A" from his teacher. Way to go Zachy!!!

BYU Spring Scrimmage

We were able to go to Provo yesterday (except Steve...darn work...) and watch a BYU scrimmage, just the offense against the defense. It was absolutely perfect weather---I mean ABSOLUTELY perfect. I loved spending time with the kids and being at the stadium was just the icing on the cake. 26 weeks till the first game!!! And yes, I am counting down.

True Blue fans!

Soaking up the rays AND enjoying the game

Was their really any other choice than Apollo for lunch? C'mon now...

The Firestation Fieldtrip (take 2...)

Anyone who knows Taylor knows how BEYOND EXCITED he was when we got to tour the local firestation. After the cancellation of the tour last time (they were out on a call...), I decided to make it a surprise for him instead...just in case. When we got there we had a cute little fireman (anyone younger than me is cute...) named Firefighter Tyler. He was really good with the kids and let everything be interactive. I don't think Taylor will be talking about anything else for a LONG time...at least until BYU football starts up again.

HuNgEr GaMeS!!!

We went...(got done teaching at 5:30-yay!!!), ate...(Famous Daves meat fest!), people watched...(there are weirdos at even the 8:15 showing!), watched the movie... (with one of us getting violently motion sick!)...and had the absolute perfect time together. Can't wait for Catching Fire...but we'll splurge for tickets a tad farther back next time!

go jazz!

For participating in Junior Jazz this year, Zach got 2 tickets to the Jazz/Pistons game last week. He decided to take Steve (phew!) and they had a fantastic time eating out, taking the Trax downtown and seeing Al Jefferson (Zach's Junior Jazz number) hit a three pointer at the buzzer. Sure love these boys!!!

a post for Annie...

As Annie and I were looking at our blog posts from the year so far, we noticed that she was missing from almost every single one of them. Guess it's hard when you're not 16 and can't date, ask dates to dances, go to said dances, and everything in between, which is about all that I have posted about since January! So, in honor of my middle child, the apple of my eye, the honey to my bee, the Louisiana to my Mississippi, and the Conway to my Twitty...here are a bunch of cute pictures of my sweet Annie-boo.

the "almost" fieldtrip

Nothing was harder for my 4 year old boy than to hear that the firestation fieldtrip had to be canceled. We went there (in the BITTER cold...) and knocked and knocked and knocked on the firestation door but no one was there. The firemen were probably out on a call or something. Taylor had been looking SO forward to it. Dang. It's been rescheduled but I think I will just surprise him and take him there that morning...just in case...

a dad/son weekend...

For Christmas, Steve gave Alex a trip to Vegas to see BYU play in the WCC tournament. With the Orleans arena being so small, there weren't enough tickets available. So instead, he took Alex down to St. George for a fun getaway weekend. I am blogging this for them---according to the report, it couldn't have been more fun. I am blessed to have a husband who has such a special relationship with our eldest son. They talked BYU, missions, college and everything in between. How I love these two boys....

1st stop...Quail Creek and Sand Hollow St. Parks

My son is too cool...

Hiking the trails in Zions

mmmmm...Golden Corral

They went and saw the movie "Chronicle"

Here's to many more dad/son weekends!!!
